Waiting on the Sunshine

Leave, cold dreary weather!  I want it to feel like summer so I can go swimming!! :)  Unfortunately that won't be for a few more months.  Thought I'd share some pix and quotes that I like to spice up the day...and give me something to do haha!

La musique dans mon coeur est la votre--the music in my heart is yours

The most important thing in life is to be yourself.  Unless you can be Batman.  Always be Batman!

Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.  ~Albus Dumbledore (haha)

Just a few fun quotes to share with you!  Now for some fashion finds...

NOTD: Water Marble Flowers

Hey guys!  Quick post about my nails of the day :)  I did this inspired by the St. Patrick's day tutorial by My Simple Little Pleasures, only in Purple because I don't have a good green.  Check out her tutorials if you want to learn how to water marble, it's really cool and took a few tries but once you get the hang of it the result is amazing!!

PS-Sorry about the bad quality pictures (again) I didn't take any on my good camera.

Union Jack Nails!!

I did these nails that were featured last year on Fleur de Force, inspired by the Royal Wedding...I figured that they were fine for anytime, and since it's been raining all week and I'm under the weather (oops, bad pun haha) I had nothing to do but paint my nails.

Actually, there are probably other things I could do, but I'm polish-obsessed (if you love nail polish as well, visit The PolishAholic, where Jen does amazing swatches of amazing colors)!!

Without further ado, my British nails :)

Here's the tutorial for how I did it, the video is linked here.

Start with a navy polish...this is NYC's Skin Tight Denim Creme

Make the white lines (see pix above) with a good white polish such as Sally Hansen White On

Draw in the inner red lines with a red (NYC Big Apple Red)

Finish with a topcoat--NYC Extra Shiny Topcoat!

Yay!! Your nails are done!  I had pix with a real camera but was too lazy to upload today.  Maybe soon if you want nicer pictures, just comment and tell me :)

InStyle March 2012

Hey!  Today I'm posting about the March 2012 InStyle magazine, which I haven't finished going through (I probably will tomorrow) but thought I'd share the cover with you and my thoughts on a few of the trends.

First of all, LOVE this cover.  The colors are amazing, and Jennifer Aniston looks absolutely gorgeous!

Here are some trends that are featured, and my opinions on them.  What are yours?  Comment yay or nay :)

Bold eyebrows

I could not do this, my eyebrows just wouldn't work! haha :D  But it's OK, I guess.

Wild nail art

Two HUGE thumbs up!!  I love this trend and actually have a package of Sally Hansen nail stickers (many thanks to my bestie!) to try out soon!

Pleats

My uniform dresses had pleats in kindergarten.  I think if you do it right, though, you don't have to look uniform-y.  For instance, I have a tennis skirt with a few big pleats in it and it's cute!  There is a way ;)

All white

I know some people would look stunning in this, and I really like this trend...but I don't think it would work on me, sadly :(

"Wet hair" style

Ah...not really.  I suppose it could be done right (any of these could) but not my fave.

Suits with shorts

Surprisingly, I kinda like this one.

Hope you enjoy, I'll probably post more about spring fashion when I'm done and will definitely do a Polyvore post or two with springy outfits!

Cropped Tops and TOMS

I made my own crop top a while ago after I watched this video:

I was really inspired to revamp one of my old gray tees haha!  So recently I've been really loving them and think that they are great for spring/summer especially in the summer because you can throw them on with shorts or over a bathing suit or really whatever :)  Here's the crop top that I made:

Then a few weeks later I stumbled upon this cute one while shopping with my friends at Forever 21 and I was just thrilled!!!

I love this.  So much.  It reminds me of Harry Potter and Jack Sparrow and One Direction.  Whenever I wear it, it makes me happy, and it made me sad when it was still hanging up to dry yesterday and I couldn't wear it.

Another topic!  TOMS!

Yeah, I know that everyone has them and that it makes me look really lame because I'm so behind on the bandwagon blogging about them.  But I've gotten around to it finally because.....

I now have some!  My aunt gave them to me and I still don't know how to thank her!!!  Granted, I haven't had much time to think about how because she got them for me just an hour ago.  But I'm brainstorming hard because I've wanted some for a long time and she decided that she would get some for me and my cousin, isn't that just soooo nice?  Thanks so much to her!

The style is the canvas ash (pictured above) which is kind of the staple color that I see lots of people wearing.  I love the color though and it seems to go with everything!

Here is a Polyvore featuring crop tops and TOMS :)  Enjoy!
